Ed and his wife Margie, at the Lake County Fantastic Quilt Show held in Mt. Dora, FL. Edward West writes much like he would tell a story if talking in a one on one session with the reader. He has a simple and easy manner of writing that allows the reader to experience the moment rather than trying to keep up with a complex plot or group of characters. He takes the reader through the many twists and turns and surprises of the story while at the same time allowing the reader to just relax and enjoy the story. Father’s Quilt is an excellent example of this writing skill as the reader not only reads the story but actually experiences the emotions.
Edward West was born and raised in a small rural town in upstate New York and very much enjoyed the small community fairs and other events that took place in the small town. Many of the events in Father’s Quilt are taken from his childhood memories or the stories of his family from prior generations.
Edward is sixty years old and lives in Zephyrhills, FL with his wife Margie. Margie is very active in quilting and belongs to two quilt guilds in the Tampa, FL area. Edward shares in his wife’s interest in quilting and the culture of quilting and because he can’t sew, enjoys writing about quilts and quilting. This is Edward’s first woman’s novel and was originally written just for his wife’s enjoyment. She enjoyed it so much that she wanted to share it with other readers. ![]() |
