Story

Sarah Parker is a fourteen year old girl growing up on a small farm in upstate New York during the mid 1800’s.  Her life takes a tragic turn after her father is killed during the Civil War.  Sarah makes a quilt out her father's clothing to help keep his memory alive and to help her get through this difficult time period.  Sarah soon learns that a quilt can be much more than simply pieces of fabric sewn together and can in fact possibly have a life of its own.  Her quilt becomes a companion to her as she grows up and experiences the turmoil and the happy times of her life.

Father’s Quilt is a delightful woman’s fiction story that takes the reader to quilting bees, small town fairs, barn dances and life in the late 1800’s as seen through the eyes of a teenage girl and her mother.  Father’s Quilt allows you to experience small town Americana at its finest.  If you enjoy surprises, a story with twists and turns and reading how women can triumph over difficult times, you will enjoy Father’s Quilt.
